Career Seminars and Business Suits for Staten Island Job Seekers

Career Seminar May 2014Are you an Unemployed Staten Islander or Seeking support and resources to Move Your Career Forward? Join the Suit Up Network for Career Seminars this summer offered at the St. George and the Mariners Harbor Libraries, Staten Island. The Suit Up Network Program is a free service for unemployed Staten Islanders, providing business clothing and career development resources for youth and adults. If you are unemployed you may be eligible to receive a free business suit.

A program of Staten Island Community Partnership, is a not for profit organization offering free services and resources to create a better Staten Island. The Suit Up Network offers mentoring and career development assistance with a network of professionals and business persons.

Upcoming Seminars:

Create a Career Plan in Five Easy Steps on Saturday, May 31st at the Mariners Harbor Library, 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. This workshop is an interactive workshop distinguishing the difference between a ‘Job’ and a ‘Career’. If you Fail to Plan you will likely Plan to Fail. Learn practical techniques to overcome any obstacle in order to move your career forward.

Do You Have What It Takes to be Self Employed? on Saturday, June 14th, at the St. George Library at 10:00 a.m. to Noon.  Speakers included a panel of business owners sharing their experience and advice.

Tips on Linked In for Job Seekers on Tuesday, June 24th, at the St George Library at 6:00 p.m. – 7:45 p.m. Speaker, Marilyn Zayfert , owner of IllumiNet Digital Marketing will offer expert advice on taking your Linked In Profile to the next level.
